( newspaper post/ H.P. Ilyas) Getting married is everybody's dream. People's lives will be considered complete when they marry, relatives willbe happy and friends and colleagues will congratulate the lucky couple. Here are some myths that accompany married. First, your relationship with your partner will be better after marriage. Sometimes this can be a trap for the bride and groom-to-be, hoping marriage will improve their relationship. The reality can be totally different. Marriage doesn't always significantly improve a relationship. What makes a good relationship is good communication and understanding. Marriage is not therapy to improve a relationship. Second, your financial condition will be better. This myth is neither true nor false. In fact, some families need both husband and wife to work. On the other hand, some couples' finances do actually improve after marriage. Just remember money management, saving and investment are what is needed to secure your future. Third, life will be easier after marriage. Many people hope life will instantly become beautiful as they tie the knot. This is not always true. As a matter a fact, you'll have more problems since you will automatically inherit new family members from your partner. Forth, you will not be attracted to anyone else. Marriage is a choice to be loyal solely to one person. Taking marriage vows is completely easy, but keeping the vow is not. As we know, many divorces are causes by infidelity. If either of you like playing the field; think twice before marrying at young age since marriage is no cure for a flirt. Fifth, you and your partner will do everything together. Being officially married doesn't mean you and your partner will be always together during leisure time. Neither you and your partner should have abandon your individual hobbies for the sake of the other. Often you will need to pursue your own interest. To avoid unnecessary conflict, the two parties should understand and respect each other's preferences. Shattering the above myths is not intended to deter you from your marriage and lead you to choose to remain permanently single. It is mean to make you realize that marriage is not solution to any problem and does not guarantee everlasting happiness. It all depends on the quality of communication between the two of you.
