STUDY TIES BEDROOM TV TO UNHEALTHY HABITS IN TEENS (Reuters)
Teenagers with a bed-room television tend to have poorer diet and excercise habits and lower grades in school than those without one, U.S. researchers said.
While many studies have examined TV viewing habits of young people, researchers at the
University of Minnesota School of Public Health said, little had been known about the consequences in particular for older adolescents of having bedroom TV.
Not surprisingly, those with bedroom TV were more apt to watch it a lot, clocking four to five more hours in front of a television per week. Twice as many of the teens with a bedroom TV were classified as heavy TV watchers - at least five hours a day - compares to those without one.
Girls with a bedroom TV reported getting less vigorous exercise - 1.8 hours per week compared to 2.5 hours for girls without a TV. They also ate fewer vegetables, drank more sweetened beverages and ate meals with their family less often.
Boys with a bedroom TV reported having a lower grade point average than boys without one, as well as eating less fruit and having fewer family meals. It really clearly points out there some merit to not allowing your child to have a TV in the bedroom.
When you upgrade your TV in the living room and have this smaller TV that's out of date but still usable, parents should really resist putting it in one of your children's bedroom.

GYM ETIQUETTE
( P. Sabarini)
Some people are not aware of the unspoken rules of the gym. It is a little bit annoying, when the trainer asked to talked with someone in the middle of a set.
1. No talking to people while working out!
2. Don't around chatting in the gym. GO chat in the café. Basic rules of politness apply in the gym.
3. After using another type of equipment in the gym, be sure to wipe it off. No one wants to lie on gym mat that is dripping with someone else's sweat. Even though some instructors routinely wipe down the equipment it's always better to so it yourself.
4. Be careful when handling weights and put them back after you have finished using them. Scattering plates and dumbbells throughout the gym makes extra work for the instructors and the other members.
5. Don't bring food into the gym. The smell was overbearing.
6. The gym is not a pick-up joint. Spare the other gym members from hearing bad pickup lines, such as, "nice abs".
7. Remember your manners in the locker room. Don't stare at other people when they are getting undressed. Respect people privacy in the bathroom.

SOME MYTHS BEHIND MARRIAGE
( newspaper post/ H.P. Ilyas) Getting married is everybody's dream. People's lives will be considered complete when they marry, relatives willbe happy and friends and colleagues will congratulate the lucky couple. Here are some myths that accompany married. First, your relationship with your partner will be better after marriage. Sometimes this can be a trap for the bride and groom-to-be, hoping marriage will improve their relationship. The reality can be totally different. Marriage doesn't always significantly improve a relationship. What makes a good relationship is good communication and understanding. Marriage is not therapy to improve a relationship. Second, your financial condition will be better. This myth is neither true nor false. In fact, some families need both husband and wife to work. On the other hand, some couples' finances do actually improve after marriage. Just remember money management, saving and investment are what is needed to secure your future. Third, life will be easier after marriage. Many people hope life will instantly become beautiful as they tie the knot. This is not always true. As a matter a fact, you'll have more problems since you will automatically inherit new family members from your partner. Forth, you will not be attracted to anyone else. Marriage is a choice to be loyal solely to one person. Taking marriage vows is completely easy, but keeping the vow is not. As we know, many divorces are causes by infidelity. If either of you like playing the field; think twice before marrying at young age since marriage is no cure for a flirt. Fifth, you and your partner will do everything together. Being officially married doesn't mean you and your partner will be always together during leisure time. Neither you and your partner should have abandon your individual hobbies for the sake of the other. Often you will need to pursue your own interest. To avoid unnecessary conflict, the two parties should understand and respect each other's preferences. Shattering the above myths is not intended to deter you from your marriage and lead you to choose to remain permanently single. It is mean to make you realize that marriage is not solution to any problem and does not guarantee everlasting happiness. It all depends on the quality of communication between the two of you.

ATKINS DIET
(newspaper column: Ask Ade) The Atkin's diet is a type of diet that promotes low to zero carbohydrate intake for speedy fat loss. The founder, Dr. Atkins, recommended calorie intake from proteins and healthy fats. Any type of diet should be suitable for us depend on three main factors, there are: 1. You can commit those diet for the rest of your life. Many diets come with their own rules and conditions, so find one with rules that you can follow or at least adapt to easily. That way there is a little chance that way you will deviate too much from it, hence a bigger chance you will stick with it over a long period of time. 2. The diet should improve your health and physical composition. It is actually a smart move to monitor your progress while following any type of diet; keep tabs on your HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides in your blood check and body fat percentage in your body composition check. 3. The diet should elicit vitality and allow you to feel adequately full all the time. Because there's no point faithfully following a diet that weakens your body and makes you feel hungry most of the time Please make sure you have researched of it and enough to make the right decision; know the pitfalls, benefits, rules, conditions, and even listen to the comments of others about the diet Consult your physician before making any changes to your diet. Good luck with your endeavor.

MORE SOLID ADVICE
Did you know that diarrheal diseases peak during the weaning stage of six to twelve months? This is attributed to the increased risk of contamination from a baby's foods due to unhygienic preparation, handling or storing, eating utensils, the environment (around this time, baby learns to crawl and explores object with his mouth!) and also due to a drop in the beneficial bacteris in his gut. Diarrhea saps a child's energy, deplets his nutrients and may even be fatal.
Boost your baby's resistance to intestinal infections by introducing probiotic or beneficial bacteria such as Bifido bacteria into his diet. These probiotic bacteria, which are added to some baby cereals, milk and yoghurt, help to build a healthy digestive.
HOW TO GO ABOUT WEANING?
Start by giving your baby one type of solid food, say rice cereal, for three to five days Then add another new food and test it out for another three to five days. This way, you will be able to isolate any allergy-inducing foods and eliminate them from your baby's diet. Babies may not show love at first sight for most foods. Thus mothers must show patience and gentle persistence. Do not force the food on your baby but serve it again after several days and let him get accustomed to it.
Always sit a baby upright when giving solids. Offer about a quarter of a small teaspoon at a time. Foods must be finally mashed. Initially, your baby will spit out much of the food as he is learning to swallow. Again, patience pays off. Always keep an eye on the baby during mealtimes to avoid untoward incidents like choking.

WHAT TO SERVE BABY?
Weaning is a "high risk" period as your baby is exposed to a wide variety of foods. And any food has the potential to cause an allergy, with discomfort like hives, sneezing, coughing, vomitting, diarrhea or even life-threatening ractions. Futhermore, a food allergy may lead to a series of other allergic diseases in later life. So a baby's food must be nutritious and "safe". The trick is to stay away from allergenic foods that cause problems until the child is over a year old. This include egg white, peanuts, treenuts (for example, walnuts, hazelnuts, and almonds) and shellfish/
You may give your baby rice cereals as his first solid food because rice rarely causes an allergy and is easy to digest. Commercial ones have the added advantage of being fortified with iron. By this age, the iron reserve that your baby was born with would have been depleted.
Other "safe" foods suitable for weaning are apples, pears, prunes, carrots, potatoes, spinach, chicken, oats, and wheat. From here, slowly expand your baby's menu.
But whatever you serve, do not season with salt, soy sauce or sugar. It is never too early to establish healthy eating habits.

WHEN TO START WEANING?
Weaning too early exposes your baby to the risk of food allergy as his digestive and immune systems are still immature. On the other hand, weaning too late deprives your baby off additional nutrients needed, thus hampering his growth and development. Generally, babies are ready for solids when they are six months old. Look out for cues from your baby. If he frets and gnaws hungrily at his fis after a full feeding, if he eyes your food intently when you eat or if he is able to sit upright and can hold food on his tongue without thrusting it out, then you may start weaning.

SOLID START
(taken from: Parenting)
Imagine drinking only milk the whole day for the first six months of your life. Then suddenly you are served foods of vibrant colors, interesting textures, unfamiliar
smells and different tastes! Now this is what your baby sees when he weaned. Whether it is an exciting adventure or a frustatating phase, weaning or the
introduction of solids to babies, is indeed an important milestone for various reasons.
Nutritionally, weaning fills baby's diet with more energy and nutients to meet his increased needs, now that milk alone is insufficient.
Phsically, a baby develops eating skills, which includes biting, chewing, swallowing, drinking from a cup and eating with a spoon.
As various types of foods are introduced to a baby during weaning, his diet gains variety, which forms the basis of good dietary habits for the future. Variety also
balances your baby's diet.
Weaning is not always smooth. Babies may refuse the solids, resent the way they are fed or mighteven react adversely to the foods. For successful weaning
we share a few important tips here with you.

SOFT SIDE
(by S. Mulia in Global Style) In this hard world, may be we can be different by showing a gentle touch. We love to see the dark and demonic side of others. Life is tough, after all, so we get our kicks where we can. It's hard to navigate the competitive workplace where kissing up to the boss is the way to the top (as well as making sure to put others down at every opportunity). Well, it sure make life more interesting. But they are still required to show their serious side when they use the rigid jackets and classic (read boring) colors of gray and black that dominate working womes's fashion collections. Not to mention the black stocking and formal shoes. Men and women face the same struggles in the workplace, but instead of playing hardball with the men in suits, soften things up a bit. Think out of the box and take things gently. Men, too, can polish up their rough edges; nobody said you have to be toughie all the time, only when the situation calls for it. Women, thankfully, have taken their place front and center in the office. They are in positions of leadership, changing the face of the workplace in the process.

How to make your ad Work For YOU
(taken from stockexpert.com)
Hello carrier women, here I have some tips on advertising advertisements
1. Set a clear ojective
Decide on what you want your advertisement to achieve. This will assist in the creative process and allow you to assess the succes of your campaign.
2. Relate to your customers
Decide on your market target and the best way to win them over. Make believe you are one of them to learn hoe they relate to things. Use this to judge their
tastes. Will your advertisements appeal to them? Is language used too business-like? Will it tickle their curiousity or fancy?
3. Learn your target market's habits
Advertising on the days that your target market gets paid, has more time to read the paper, etc. will make your advertisement more effective.
4. Be consistent
Although an ad may become boring over time and need adjustments, identifying traits such as signature templates, font style or day of the week it is published
should be maintained. This keeps your ad fresh but still makes it identifiable with you or your company.
5. Judge the results
Evaluate how the results measure against your goals, whether the ad was placed to boost sales or company profil. Continue using the elements that work
and change those are less effectiv

Arranging Matters
As a house wife sometimes we're striving to do multitasking job. I'm not questioned working women. They are absolutely have a baby sitter to aid them for
managing kitchen and house necessity. Even for non working women, they also bussy many house things, start in the morning, like preparing breakfast,
children's homeworks, and maybe husband's work uniform.
We can completely confusing, which one have to do first, where do I have to start, who am I suppose to help, husband or kid, the older sister/brother or
the sleep the baby first. This is all like deadline, if we dont head straight to fulfill, whole house community will complain and complain.
Well here I have some tips how to deal with many deadlines
1. Considering job effectiveness and efficiency
If you think that preparing breakfast would be much easier and with bread than cereals, than prepared bread toasted (agree with your family too)
If the older sister can help you nurture the baby after she come from school, while u're cooking, that will be good score!
2. Deadlines vs no deadlines
Women often thinks all matters is important. well my friend, think twice. you can start in your mind, what the closest thing you can reach, do, and finish
it in short time. Or you can start it from the first activity you love the most like gardening than sewing, or cleaning the house than washing.
But remember set the time to each activitiy. If you cannot finish it, then you have to make it orderly as in the beginning (as neat as possible)
never leave a job in a messy condition. This will make you an extra work to do.
Ok, my friends that's all tips that works for me too. Hope it will usefull to all the readers. By the way, u can use the tips for your financial management too.
Have a nice day!
